IDD Updates – Week of January 21

The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) is preparing to publish a Request for Proposal for agencies to provide protective services to adults with disabilities between the ages of 18-59. Act 70 of 2010 created this program and funding is now available to move forward with program development. The Draft RFP it is available for written comments, only, until February 19.  Please also share your comments with Linda Drummond.

The HCSIS Update for January has been released. Information is provided regarding how to delete an incident from the HCSIS system for an Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) reportable incident. If an agency has more than three incidents for ODP, email the Help Desk at c-hhcsishd@pa.gov for assistance.

A recent article in Capitolwire indicated that Governor Corbett stated he is considering adding $20 million to the intellectual disability budget to reduce the waiting list. His budget will be released on February 5.
