DRN Selects New CEO
The Disability Rights Network (DRN) of Pennsylvania has selected Peri Jude Radecic, Esq, as its new CEO. She will begin July 1. Ms. Radecic is currently executive director at the Arizona Center for Disability Law, the state’s protection and advocacy agency.

Office of Developmental Programs Updates

  • Seventh Annual Pennsylvania Autism Training Conference, Delivering Autism Services in Pennsylvania: Practical Strategies and Tools, is June 10 –12 at the Eden Resort, Lancaster. Registration opens soon.
  • Ebensburg Center offers Introduction to IDD on May 20.
  • Save the Date: 2014 Aging/Intellectual Disability Cross-Systems Conference, Building Bridges, is September 16 – 17 at the Holiday Inn, Grantville. Registration is $125 full conference/$75 per day. The hotel room rate is $89/night. To make room reservations phone 717-469-0661 and ask for the Building Bridges block.

Older Adults Month
May is nationally recognized as Older Americans Month. The federal Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau is hosting a workshop May 22, Stay Safe, Healthy, and Connected, to address online safety, communicating during emergencies, technologies to assists in aging in place, and telehealth. Provided in Washington, DC the session will also be available online.

The American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) is an agency for health care professionals who provide clinical care to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and intellectual disabilities. June 16 – 18 in Princeton, NJ, the AAMD will conduct its national conference in concert with the National Task Group on Intellectual Disabilities and Dementia Practices.
