The ODP waiver renewals effective July 1 are over 500 pages of reading. Linda Drumond has prepared a brief overview of both the Consolidated and Person/Family Directed Support waivers to list the major changes and location of Appendices and the topics.

  • Announcement #032-12: Removal of Illness as a Secondary Category Under Hospitalization in HCSIS Incident Management Screens
  • Announcement #033-12: Mileage Rate Change Effective April 17, 2012. SCOs need to ensure that individuals who receive the transportation mile service are notified of the change in reimbursement rate for procedure code W7271 to $0.555 per mile.
  • Bureau of Autism Services: Fifth Annual Autism Training Conference is June 12-14 at Eden Resort, Lancaster. Registration is now open at www.bastrainings.org.

Mark your calendars now for the next PCPA IDD Committee meeting on June 13, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey.  Please share with Linda drummond (linda@paproviders.org) topics for discussion. Tentatively scheduled are:

  • Vicki Stillman-Toomey, aoutheast ODP regional manager addressing work group outcomes on “Elimination of Unnecessary 1:1 Staffin;g”
  • Kevin Friel, ODP deputy secretary, and Deb Donahue, ODP fiscal director, addressing waivers and rates; and
  • Devon Grant, executive director, Governor’s Cabinet and Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities, providing an update on initiatives and open discussion on employment issues for persons with disabilities.

The Southeast Regional Office of Developmental Programs and the five Administrative Entities (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, andPhiladelphia) are holding Risk/Incident Management Provider Forums addressing “Practical Approaches for Risk Management When Incident Reports Involve Challenging Behaviors”  on May 1 and 2 at the Southeast Staff Development Training Center in King of Prussia. The flyer and registration form is available and due by April 27.
