Waiver Rule Forums
The Department of Public Welfare has scheduled five public forums across the state to receive stakeholder and public comments on the state’s transition plan regarding the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Home and Community Based Services Waiver Rule Changes.

The Transition Plan addresses compliance with all 1915(c) Medicaid waivers of which Pennsylvania has 10 home and community based services waivers. The Office of Developmental Program’s waivers are the Consolidated, Person/Family Directed Support Waivers and Adult Autism Waivers. Stakeholders may provide verbal comments at the public input meetings and/or attend the meetings. Registration is required by following the link above or by calling 800-654-5984.

The PA Housing Finance Agency has a Homeowners Energy Efficiency Loan Program (HEELP) for low and moderate income households. This is a 1% loan on up to $10,000 for roof replacements, heating/cooling systems, caulking/sealing/insulation, and new windows and doors. Information is available at www.PHFA.org.

Disabilities Forum
Temple University’s Institute on Disabilities, PA Developmental Disabilities Council and PA Disability Rights Network are conducting public forums across the state in September and October to hear about disability and social issues to better support individuals with disabilities. Discussion will focus on improving supports and services, community, advocacy, training and rights for people with disabilities and their families.

The Arc is offering a free webinar “Alternatives to Incarceration for Criminal Offenders with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities”, on August 28, 1:30 p.m.
