Office of Developmental Programs' (ODP) Bulletin #00-12-02: Rate Setting Methodology and Rates for Department Established Fees for Ineligible Residential Habilitation Services, provides information regarding methodologies used to establish rates for the Consolidated waiver, base-funded services in waiver residential service location, and the Adult Autism waiver which became effective July 1. This new bulletin makes obsolete Bulletin #00-11-06: Continuing Participation Allowance for Residential Habilitation Service Providers’ Rates

The Bureau of Autism Services has issued Bulletin #00-12-01: Adult Autism Waiver Services and Procedure Code Changes and Rates. Two new procedure codes and rates were added effective July 1, for Respite Care Services for Unlicensed Out of Home for day and 15 minute units.

The Bureau of Autism Services announced the appointment of Dr. Stacy Nonnemacher as clinical director and Pamela Treadway, MEd, as senior clinical consultant.

The Department of Public Welfare Medicaid Infrastructure Grant is offering free trainings around the state addressing, “Transition for School to Work.” Information on locations and dates is available at www.networksfortraining.org

It is state and national Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week. At PCPA’s request, Governor Corbett issued a statewide proclamation for this special week (Page 12 of Provider News). The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) also recognized direct support staff with a letter from Deputy Secretary Friel. Department of Public Welfare (DPW) and ODP Updates

  • Pennsylvania Disability Employment Summit, October 4-6, Hershey Motor Lodge. Free conference supported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Medicaid Infrastructure Grant. Details available at www.padesummit.org.
  • Staff development courses available for September at Selinsgrove State Center. For information contact Roxanne Mayfield (rmayfield@pa.gov).
  • HCSIS Release 6.17.0 went live September 8.
  • Informational Memo #079-12: Certified Investigation Peer Review Training. The Certified Investigation Peer Review Manual and Tool have been revised and are available at www.odpinvestigations.com. CIPR trainings are being scheduled with details available at www.odpinvestigations.com.
  • Informational Memo #080-12: Reporting Unauthorized Restrictive Interventions. Consolidates direction and summarizes ODP’s existing guidelines for allowable and prohibited restrictive interventions.
    The September 5 ICF/ID Task Force addressed emergency preparedness, strategies for working with special needs populations in an emergency, and an influenza update. Copies of handouts are available from Linda Drummond (linda@paproviders.org).
