New Medication Administration Program Resouce

The Department of Public Welfare (DPW) Office of Developmental Programs has announced a new resource available on the Medication Administration Program web site. The new resource is an overview of the Medication Administration Program. The document answers commonly asked questions about the program and is geared toward provider administrators, primary contacts, and training directors. Areas covered include online registration and payment, the course outline for trainers, differences in the course for students, ways to implement the new course, trainer recertification, and certified medication administrator (student) annual requirements. The information and training resources are applicable to the following DPW or Department of Aging licensed environments:

  • Title 55 Aging, Chapter 2800: Assisted Living,
  • Chapter 11: Adult Day Services,
  • Chapter 2390: Vocational Facilities,
  • Chapter 2600: Personal Care Homes,
  • Chapter 2800: Assisted Living Residences,
  • Chapter 3800: Child Residential and Day Treatment Facilities,
  • Chapter 6400: Community Homes for Individuals with Mental Retardation,
  • Chapter 6600: Intermediate Care Facilities for Other Related Conditions (ICF/ORC), and
  • Chapter 6600: Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability (ICF/ID).
