QIU

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has announced the start of Temple’s Quality Review Process (QRP). The purpose of this announcement is:

  • To announce the renaming of Temple University’s Reviews to Quality Investigation Reviews (QIR);
  • To introduce the launch of the new 2025 – 2026 QRP conducted by Temple University’s Quality Investigations Unit (QIU), formerly known as Temple University’s Peer Review (PR) Unit;
  • To share the creation of an electronic form to obtain updated contact information for ODP-affiliated organizations;
  • To notify provider agencies that the QRP will include the tracking of certification/recertification dates to ensure CI certifications were current at the time of investigation assignment; and
  • To provide instructions on how to submit a Quality Review Request (QRR) form to Temple’s QIU.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) has shared ODPANN 23-068: 2023–2024 Temple Peer Review Process Beginning. The purpose of this announcement is to communicate the beginning of the 2023–2024 Peer Review process conducted by Temple University’s Quality Investigations Unit (QIU). This involves the creation of a survey to obtain updated provider information, informing providers that the Peer Review process will include the tracking of certification/recertification dates of each CI who conducted the investigation that was reviewed, and informing stakeholders of staff changes within the QIU.

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) communication 19-029 announces that the Certified Investigation Training Programs Vendor, Temple University of Harrisburg, has established a Quality Investigation Unit (QIU). This unit will be conducting Certified Investigation Peer Reviews (CIPRs) of investigations completed by department certified investigators.

The QIU will be involved in several activities:

  • Complete CIPR for a sample of investigations;
  • Complete ad hoc CIPR upon request;
  • Provide education and consultation regarding the CIPR process; and
  • Provide technical assistance upon request.

The QIU will notify the entity when an investigation has been selected for review and detail the process to securely send case files electronically. Once the CIPR is completed, the QIU will provide feedback regarding the investigation review to the entity and will answer any questions. The results will also be shared with ODP.
