Volume to Value: Behavioral Health Challenges, Opportunities, Policy Reforms

Jan 12, 2017 @ 9:30 am - 1:30 pm

Thursday, January 12, 2017 • Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

In the wake of new technology and the Affordable Care Act, there has been a movement to reform the way behavioral health providers deliver and are paid for their services. Specifically, there is a consensus that health reform cannot be achieved without improved quality and simultaneously decreasing cost.

How has the growing demand for accurate and up-to-date data and cost reporting impacted behavioral providers? Is there a way to collect data and report to multiple payors without duplicating the amount of work? On Thursday, January 12, 2017, the Rehabilitation & Community Providers Association (RCPA), and OPEN MINDS, in partnership with the Behavioral Health + Economics Network (BHECON), led by the National Council for Behavioral Health, will host the second in a series of forums to explore solutions to these pressing issues.

The forum, Volume to Value: Behavioral Health Challenges, Opportunities, Policy Reforms, will convene a two-part meeting. On the morning of January 12, quality managers and senior executives will gather to discuss real solutions and replicable successes they have adopted in order to comply with delivery system reforms in Pennsylvania. For the afternoon session, additional groups and organizations will be invited to join in a working lunch to explore the concepts discussed during the first session and additional resolutions that would ease reporting burdens on providers. These additional groups of people will bring different perspectives to the conversation and contribute to dynamic discussion on achievable reforms in Pennsylvania.

The forum will be held in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at the Best Western, 800 East Park Drive. More details are contained in the registration link below. The first session of the forum will begin at 9:30 am and the second session (open to legislators, agency officials, individuals with lived experience, and other advocates) will begin at 12:00 pm, with the entire forum scheduled to conclude at 1:30 pm. Lunch for all attendees will be included. Additional details and information about the speakers will be available online. RSVPs are required; if you are interested in attending, please RSVP here. Please contact Jacquelyn Sommer with any questions.
