The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Intellectual Disability/Autism (ID/A) Supportive Housing Pilot, which launched on March 1, 2024, currently operates across ten counties.

This program empowers individuals with ID/A to live in their own homes in the community by providing a combination of financial assistance and supportive services.

As of January 1, 2026, there are 129 individuals enrolled in the pilot and 169 pending applicants. Enrolled individuals have shared positive feedback, highlighting their appreciation for their homes, their staff, and the freedom to manage their own schedules.

From a fiscal perspective, the pilot is demonstrating impressive cost-effectiveness. The annual service cost per individual in the Supportive Housing Pilot is $98,991, compared to $267,225 for traditional licensed residential group homes. For individuals transitioning from group homes, the average yearly savings is $75,117.34, with specific savings ranging from $10,757.03 to $135,402.00.

To date, 22 individuals have successfully transitioned off the subsidy, which averages $724.03 per person.
