Message from the Department of Aging:

The Focus on Behavioral Health series will highlight behavioral health and substance use topics and how they affect older adults. Each session will focus on older adult behavioral health concerns, best existing practices, new initiatives and treatments, substance use disorders, and ways to improve mental and behavioral health outcomes. Each session will feature one speaker and focus on topics that will provide pertinent and useful information to our network and those who interact with older adults as part of their professional lives. The sessions in this series will be held twice each year, May and October.

The goal of the Focus on Behavioral Health series is to improve mental and behavioral health awareness, increase knowledge, and highlight trends and emerging issues that relate to the medical, social, and financial implications of mental health issues and substance use disorders for older adults.
