Press Conference

Time is running out to register for RCPA’s Capitol Day, which will be held next Tuesday, March 19. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to advocate for yourselves and others by meeting with legislators directly! We will hold a press conference in the Main Rotunda between 10:30 am – 11:30 am, which will tentatively include speakers such as:

  • Representative Dan Miller;
  • Representative Stephen Kinsey;
  • Representative Doyle Heffley;
  • Senator Art Haywood; and
  • Senator Frank Farry.

You can register for our Capitol Day press conference by contacting Allison Brognia or Christine Tartaglione with the number of anticipated attendees. RCPA requests that members schedule appointments with their Senate and House legislators directly to discuss the state budget, legislation, and regulations after our press conference.

RCPA will be hosting our 2023 Capitol Day on Monday, April 24 and will hold a press conference and rally between 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm on the front steps of the State Capitol (outside the Main Rotunda). This is your opportunity to show a shared voice to the legislature, administration, and governor’s office on matters that impact providers and those they serve. Members from all RCPA divisions are requested to attend and schedule appointments with their Senate and House legislators to discuss the state budget, legislation, and regulations that impact the services of our members.

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services’ Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) will be hosting a two-part Mental Health Awareness Event next Monday, May 23, 2022.

This two-part event will kick off with a press conference with Department of Human Services Acting Secretary Meg Snead and OMHSAS Deputy Secretary Kristen Houser in the Capitol Media Room at 10:00 am. Afterwards, the Dennis Marion Award Ceremony and State Hospital Staff Recognition will take place at Strawberry Square at 1:00 pm.
