Registration for the RCPA Conference 2022 Together! is now open! Together! will be held October 11 – 14, 2022, at the Hershey Lodge in person this year. Be sure to register, as early bird rate is available now until September 9, 2022.

We are excited for the line-up of speakers who will be presenting at this year’s conference, as there will be pertinent information available and discussed for all service areas. Workshop sessions include:

The 2022 event features more than 60 workshops, most of which will be recorded to allow participants to take advantage of viewing sessions after the event, over 90 continuing education credit options, Beacon Health Options Connections Hall, and networking events.

Keynote speakers include Dick Finnegan, a respected speaker, author, and CEO of C-Suite Analytics, providing his insight on “The Great Resignation;” Deborah Riddick, a public policy expert, to discuss how intentional collaboration, centered in curiosity, authenticity, and integrity, can help to address health disparities; and Dan Hilferty, a respected authority on health care, business, and civic engagement. Our final keynote session will be presented by conference favorite Michael Cohen, who has updated stories of unusual HR situations and strategies to resolve them.

Two plenary sessions, one with national updates from partners National Council President Chuck Ingoglia and Gabrielle Sedor of ANCOR, and the second featuring Meg Snead, Acting Secretary of the Department of Human Services, and Jennifer Smith, Secretary of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.

Several sessions will focus on workforce development, workforce recruitment and retention, value-based payments, telehealth, and trauma-informed support. Learn how to effectively share your story with legislators.

The RCPA Conference 2022, Together, is committed to being held in-person this year at the Hershey Lodge October 11 – 14, 2022. We will not be offering a virtual option; however, our plan is to record sessions for registrants to access after the conference in order to take advantage of over 60 sessions that will take place live.

We are excited to announce keynote speakers Dick Finnegan, speaker, author, & CEO of C-Suite Analytics, on “Cutting Turnover 20% and More During ‘The Great Resignation,’” as well as Deborah Riddick, Principal Consultant at Alternative Frame LLC, where she works with clients across the country providing policy analyses, engagement strategies, and health equity trainings.

Hear from our national partners Chuck Ingoglia from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and Gabriel Sedor of ANCOR for updates on the current federal landscape. Meg Snead and Jen Smith will share PA perspectives, and returning conference favorite Mike Cohen will close out the conference with a return of “Dear Helga,” who has many new experiences to share.

Each day will be packed with informational sessions from peers and experts in the field. Topics include recruiting and retaining talented employees, value-based payments, managed care organizations’ focus on Social Determinants of Health, use of technology in providing services, the importance of data, leadership skills, trauma-informed care and supervision, telehealth considerations, effective advocacy with legislators and others, supporting people with various challenging needs, guardianship laws, and more. RCPA Conference Featuring Panel with National Advocacy Experts for Review of the Need for Equity in Service:

On Thursday, September 30, a video developed by a group of parents of children with severe autism will be “unveiled” publicly and nationally at the RCPA Annual Conference for the first time. Later in the afternoon, a panel addressing these concerns titled “One Size Does Not Fit All — A Review of the Need for Equity in Service Provision and Establishing A Comprehensive Continuum of Care” will include national advocacy experts discussing how the narrow interpretation of the HCBS setting rule and other policies potentially deprive individuals with intense needs choice in where they live, work, and play. Hear from the families on how these policies have impacted their loved ones’ quality of life.

The video contains disturbing images; however, the parents who produced this video felt compelled to share the reality of severe autism in order to combat the increasing claims of the highly vocal and publicly visible advocates and others who have the sole agenda of supporting those of higher functioning in the community.

In contrast, severely autistic individuals and their families are often not publicly visible. They may not be able to safely leave the house, let alone testify in a government hearing, present at a conference, or appear on television alongside other advocates.

But severe autism is real. This is what it looks like. And those affected require a true continuum of care — from the most inclusive options to disability-specific settings — to meet their lifelong support needs, not only to thrive, but to survive. One size does not fit all.

As you have heard, registration is open for the 2015 RCPA Conference at Seven Springs, October 6 – 9. We hope you have plans to join us; the schedule is filled with excellent speakers.  We also know that you are being asked to register and pay for the conference at a time when many are feeling the tremendous negative impact of the delayed state budget.

For this reason, RCPA is offering full provider members the opportunity to register for the conference now and defer payment until after the state budget is passed, or an interim stopgap measure is in place (an emergency solution for which we continue to push). All attendees from full provider members are eligible for this offer.

To take advantage of this conference payment deferral offer, please complete a print version of the conference registration form. Do not register electronically through the online system, which requires payment to be collected. Rather, print and complete the form, noting your request for this deferral, and send it to Tieanna Lloyd in the RCPA office via fax to 717-364-3287 or email. RCPA will then invoice members 90 days after the budget is approved or a stopgap measure is in place to allow time for cash flow to stabilize.
