The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) Special Populations Unit invites you to read the latest edition of the Communication Corner Quarterly Newsletter. Each Communication Corner Newsletter features tips, stories, and resources for empowering connections through effective communication.
Here’s what you can expect in this issue:
- Communication Spotlight highlights the Office of Developmental Programs’ updated resource, “Bridging the Gap from Classroom to Community: Transition Resources Related to Communication.”
- Communication Tips provides useful tips for supporting an individual’s communication access across different environments, such as at home, in the community, or at school.
- Stories That Matter shares inspiring stories of a diverse group of individuals who utilized various services and supports to navigate their journey after high school into adulthood.
- Resources and Upcoming Events provides valuable resources and upcoming virtual and community events that support all things communication.
- Communication Tools introduces visual schedules, which are person-centered tools that use pictures, symbols, objects, and/or written words to share information about upcoming events or tasks and can be used in various settings.
- Did You Know? This section shares important information for Supports Coordinators (SC) who have a Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind individual being added to their caseload.
