Message from the Office of Long-Term Living (OLTL):
The Office of Long-Term Living and Office of Developmental Programs within the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (PA DHS) partnered with the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University, College of Education and Human Development, and the University of Kansas Center on Disabilities' State of the States team on a statewide initiative called Pennsylvania Tech Accelerator.
The goal of the program was to expand the awareness of, and access to, assistive technology (AT), to build capacity of AT users and to measure effectiveness around AT use, access, and service across the Commonwealth.
This project was made possible by PA DHS through funding from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and proved to be successful. As a result of the initiative, several resources are available online. These resources are designed to enhance the knowledge and understanding of how the use of AT by our participants can improve their independence and overall quality of life. OLTL strongly encourages Community HealthChoices Managed Care Organizations, Service Coordinators, and all Home and Community-Based Services providers to take the trainings which are accessible on our website.
