Rehabilitation Educational Services, Inc. (RESI), a 501(c)(3) affiliate of RCPA that has been dormant for several years, is relaunching in an effort to complement RCPA’s work and ultimately improve client care.
Jason Snyder has been named Executive Director of RESI. He will have a dual role as he continues his work as SUD Policy Director for RCPA.
RESI’s mission is to improve the delivery of services to vulnerable and underserved individuals through research and education of providers, policy- and lawmakers, the public, and the individuals receiving care through these systems. RESI will achieve its mission predominantly through research-based initiatives, publishing and disseminating its findings to key stakeholders to improve service delivery in multiple ways and at multiple levels.
“RCPA’s members work within their respective fields to provide quality care and improve their clients’ quality of life. That is what drives them,” said RCPA President and CEO Richard S. Edley, PhD. “There are many factors that impact client care. The work that RESI will do will enable informed decisions throughout the system, which can enhance providers’ ability to make a meaningful difference in their clients’ lives. RESI is a natural complement to and partner of RCPA and the human services system. We are very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for RESI and RCPA.”
As a 501(c)(3), RESI will seek grant funding to fulfill its mission. It will operate under its own set of bylaws and Board of Directors and will work with key partners in carrying out its work.
“Given the critical importance of data and evidence, RESI gives us a vehicle for investigating, developing and improving not only clinical and operational services but policies, regulations, and laws that affect those services,” Snyder said. “Through empirical findings, RESI will demonstrate areas in need of improvement. In partnership with RCPA and other stakeholders, RESI will leverage those findings ultimately to benefit Pennsylvania’s most vulnerable citizens.”
